Configure Digest settings

Set up when and how your Execution Scope sends a Digest — the AI-generated execution summary that keeps your team aligned between meetings.

Before you start

  • You need access to an Execution Scope. The Digest is configured per scope, so open the scope whose Digest you want to configure.

What a Digest is

A Digest is a scheduled execution summary for an Execution Scope. It draws from the Living Execution Plan — surfacing what changed since the last Digest, current top priorities, and what needs attention. Instead of relying on memory or manual updates, Digests surface current priorities and forward-looking action — keeping teams aligned without extra status work. It answers the same question that good meetings open with: what changed, and what matters now?

Configure Digest settings

Settings can be opened in two places: by clicking the gear icon visible on most pages on the right or from the user menu in the top-right corner of the window.

1. Open Digest settings

In the scope you want to configure, click the gear icon to open scope settings and go to Digests.

2. Enable the Digest

Use the toggle next to the scope name to turn the Digest on. When enabled, In Parallel will send the Digest on the schedule you configure below.

3. Set the delivery cadence

Under Delivery cadence, set how often you want to receive the Digest. Choose the frequency (e.g. every 1 week), the day (e.g. Friday), and the time (e.g. 08:00).

Weekly is a good starting point — daily is available for teams that want more frequent visibility. Digests are delivered at the time you set, in your personal timezone. To set your timezone, open your account settings (gear icon → Settings → your profile). Digests are never delivered on weekends.

4. Choose delivery to you

Under Delivery to you, select how you want to receive the Digest: Email or Slack.

5. Share delivery to team (optional)

Enable Delivery to team to send a copy automatically to all members of the Execution Scope. Use this when the Digest is meant to be a shared execution heartbeat, not just a leader-facing update.

6. Edit the template (optional)

Click Edit template under Digest template to adjust how content is presented in your Digest.

What to expect

When the Digest arrives, it opens with a forward-looking AI summary of what's most important in your scope right now — current priorities, upcoming decisions, and the work that needs to move. Below the summary, a Current Plan section lists the specific items to act on.

If the Digest doesn't reflect what's actually happening, the most common cause is a scope that's too broad or missing key signals. See Troubleshooting: Digests & Reporting.
