Connect your calendar and notification tools

Connect In Parallel to your calendar to enable meeting capture, and to Slack or Teams to receive execution notifications.

Before you start

  • You need an In Parallel account.

  • To connect Slack: the In Parallel Slack app must be installed in your Slack workspace. If you don't see a Connect option, ask a workspace admin to install it first.

  • To connect Microsoft Teams: the In Parallel app must be installed in your organization's Teams environment before personal notifications can be enabled.

Connect your tools

Settings can be opened in two places: by clicking the gear icon visible on most pages on the right or from the user menu in the top-right corner of the window. When you enter Settings, select the Integrations tab.

Settings → Integrations showing Calendar, Gmail, Slack, and Microsoft Teams sections

1. Connect your calendar (start here)

The calendar is In Parallel's primary execution anchor — without it, In Parallel has no meeting context and the Living Execution Plan cannot stay current. Connect this first before anything else.

Under Calendar, click Connect next to Google Calendar or Microsoft — whichever matches your organization's email and calendar platform. You'll be redirected to your provider to authorize access.

Once connected, the Transcriber can join meetings on your calendar that are linked to an Execution Scope.

Note: If you already connected your calendar while setting up the Transcriber in a specific meeting, it will show as connected here — no action needed.

2. Connect Slack or Teams notifications

Slack: Click Connect notifications to link your personal Slack account. In Parallel will send you post-meeting reports, task updates, and Digest summaries as direct messages.

Microsoft Teams: If the app is installed in your organization, check that the status shows Personal notifications enabled. If not, follow the Uninstall instructions to reinstall the app.

  1. Open Microsoft Teams

  2. Right-click on the In Parallel app in your chat list

  3. Select "Uninstall" or "Remove"

  4. Confirm the uninstallation

3. Configure meeting note delivery (optional)

Once your calendar and notification tools are connected, you can control how post-meeting notes are delivered. Open the Notifications tab in personal Settings to set:

  • Whether notes are sent automatically after meetings you organize

  • Who receives them (just you, internal participants, or all participants)

  • Whether you receive notes from meetings you participate in

4. Connect Gmail (optional)

Under Gmail, click Connect to authorize access to your Gmail account. In Parallel will surface updates and observations from your emails that are relevant to your active Execution Scopes.
