Deliver Workspace updates to a Slack channel

Connect a Slack channel to a Workspace and deliver scheduled briefings and recaps there.

Written by Topi Järvinen

Connect a Slack channel to a Workspace when everyone in that channel should receive the same scheduled updates. Workspace channel delivery is separate from each person's direct-message notifications.

Before you start

  • You need Owner access to the Workspace whose delivery you want to change.

  • The In Parallel Slack app must be installed for your organization.

  • The intended channel membership must be appropriate for the Workspace content.

Connect the Workspace channel

  1. Open your user menu and select Settings.

  2. Choose the Workspace.

  3. Open Integrations.

  4. Under Workspace channels, select Edit Slack channels.

  5. Select the channel that should be connected to the Workspace.

When the Slack integration is connected and allowed, In Parallel can read from and post to connected Slack channels. Conversations in those channels can contribute authorized context and signals, just as connected meetings can.

Deliver briefings and recaps to Slack

  1. Open Settings → [Workspace] → Notifications.

  2. Configure the daily or weekly schedule on the Briefing or Recap card.

  3. Under Delivery to workspace, open Select delivery methods.

  4. Select Slack.

Workspace delivery methods including email, Slack, and Microsoft Teams

The briefing and recap have independent schedules and delivery settings. A recap delivered to Slack may be titled the Workspace's daily or weekly close.

Everyone in the Slack channel can see content posted there. Confirm that channel membership is appropriate for the Workspace before enabling delivery.
