When In Parallel needs an additional permission from a connected calendar or Slack account, the integration can show Update available. Use that action to repeat authorization and add the missing permission without disconnecting a healthy connection first.
Update a calendar connection
Open your user menu and select Settings.
Open Personal → Integrations.
Under Calendar, find the connected Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar account.
If it shows Update available, select that action.
Complete the provider's authorization flow and return to In Parallel.
Confirm that the integration shows Connected.
If no permission update is needed, the connected calendar shows Disconnect instead. Disconnect only when you intend to remove access or when a revoked or expired provider session cannot be recovered with the update flow.
Update Slack permissions
Slack has two related connections:
the Slack app installed for the Workspace;
your personal Slack notification connection.
In Settings → Personal → Integrations, the main Slack button shows the most relevant available action. Additional actions appear in its menu.
Select Update available to grant newly required permissions to the Workspace installation.
Select Update notifications to refresh permissions for your personal Slack notification connection.
Complete the Slack authorization flow. Updating the Workspace installation in place preserves users' personal Slack connections; uninstalling the app does not.
When updating is not enough
Update available detects missing permission scopes. It does not detect every revoked or expired token. If an integration still fails and no update action appears:
note which account and provider are connected;
select Disconnect, Disable notifications, or Uninstall only after reading the confirmation;
reconnect the same provider;
check upcoming meetings and notification settings afterward.
Uninstalling the Slack app affects everyone using that Slack Workspace. Ask a Slack administrator to confirm the impact before removing it.
